Community Rules.
In the CarCollector community you share photos of real cars you have spotted out on the road. A few simple rules keep it enjoyable for everyone.
These rules apply whenever you use the community features of the app – uploading photos, viewing, commenting on or reporting other people's posts. By sharing content, you accept these rules.
What this is about
CarCollector is an app for people who enjoy discovering cars. The community lives on real sightings: an interesting vehicle at the roadside, a rare model in a car park, a classic on the way to work. Stay friendly and respectful, even when you don't like a car or a post.
What you may share
Share photos of vehicles that you took yourself and that come from public street scenes – cars visible on publicly accessible roads, car parks or squares.
The vehicle should clearly be the focus of the image. A short, factual comment about the sighting is always welcome.
What is not allowed
- Other people's or copied images: photos you did not take yourself – for example from the internet, social networks, sales listings or manufacturer websites.
- Screenshots and photographed screens: pictures of displays, monitors, televisions or printed material.
- People as the focus of the image: photos in which people are recognisably at the centre. Passers-by who happen to appear in the background are fine – deliberate shots of people are not.
- Unnecessarily legible licence plates: see section 04.
- Insults and harassment: degrading, discriminatory, threatening or sexualised content, as well as deliberately exposing individual people or vehicle owners.
- Spam: repeated, pointless or mass-identical posts.
- Commercial content and advertising: sales offers, price lists, links to shops, sponsored posts or self-promotion of any kind.
Content that violates applicable law is likewise prohibited.
Licence plates
A licence plate can identify the owner of a vehicle. So: cover licence plates before you share a photo.
The app provides a tool for this, letting you obscure plates before uploading. We remind you about it every time you share.
Photos with clearly legible licence plates may be removed at any time.
Moderation
Every post can be reported in the app. If several reports are received for the same content, it is automatically hidden and then reviewed by us.
Violations of these rules lead to removal of the content. In case of repeated or serious violations, we will block access to the community features. There is no entitlement to have content published or permanently displayed.
Your rights and our rights
You keep all rights to your photos. They belong to you.
By uploading, you grant DrivenFocus a simple, revocable right of use to display your photo within the app – in the community, in feeds and in detail views. Your photos are not sold or passed on to third parties.
You confirm that you hold the rights to the photos you upload and that publishing them does not infringe the rights of others.
You can remove your content from the community yourself at any time. The granted right of use ends with it.
Reporting, case ID and appeals
Every post can be reported directly in the app. You pick a reason and may add a short explanation. You can also report by email to carcollector@drivenfocus.de – please describe the content precisely enough for us to find it (post ID or link, display name, time).
Case ID: Every report receives a unique case ID, shown to you right after submitting. You can use it to ask about the status at any time at carcollector@drivenfocus.de. We inform you of the outcome quoting the same case ID.
If we remove something: If your post is removed or restricted, we notify you – stating the measure taken, the rule or legal basis it is based on, the case ID, whether it followed a report or our own review, and whether automated means were involved.
Appeal: If you disagree with a decision, you may object informally within six months by email to carcollector@drivenfocus.de, quoting the case ID. The appeal is reviewed by a person who was not involved in the original decision. If the decision was wrong, we reverse it. Details are in the Terms of Use (section 15).
